Beautiful day weather wise today, so got up early to beat the crowds in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire England. The walk starts off at the Dam at the end of Ladybower Reservoir.

The first four miles was along woodland paths running parallel to the reservoir.

And along a river for a short distance.

At the end of this, the path meets an old Roman road and ascends gradually to the hills.

And on to the highest point at Win Hill, a rocky outcrop which is 1515 feet.

From there the descent was rapid down to the starting point. A round walk of 9.5 miles in total.

Walking companion was my RAT Cutlery 3 Mil with TKC scales.

    Thanks for the comments all.
An interesting bit of information about the area is that the famous 617 Squadron practiced in the area during WW2, using the Dams as a dry run for the Dambusters raid.

Wow, what a beautyful landscape. Exactly those photos of British Countryside are responsible for that I will hike around Great Britain. Since 2014 I am hiking around the world. Normally I am just walking through a country. At the british part of my journey I will walk around the country with many detours to the innerland. Because of the so many and diverse, beautyfull, amazing, outstanding landscapes. Thanks alot for your photos.

Very scenic, and interesting info about the area's use during WW2.

Odd that the Roman road way markers appeared to be in English, not Latin.

Ì think the waymarkers came a little later ;)
I think whoever made them made a slight miscalculation though. Trying to think why else they would miss an F from Sheffield ;)
