Scored a sweet piece of steel today, already water jet cut into a scimitar shape. 3/8" thick 1095 (at least that's what the steel guy was sure it was). This is going to make the Junglas look like a 3........ despite its size , the War Knife feels very balanced and surprisingly light in the hand. Already rough cut the handle out. Got lots and lots of work to do....lol......whole lotta steel. Basically going to make a convex blade . Blank Pics when I'm home. More to come.
^ how do you NOT chop fingers off ? LOL kinda wishing i had cut the handle so the knife would be like a sickle......but this is pretty bad ass.
I could probably hand sand this to remove all that stock, and I'd still be done before Expat Knives has their cleaver ready.....LOL
Wow! That is a massive blade. Are you going to file the bevels in? What is your plan for heat treating this dude?
im either going to do stock removal, or i'm going to blacksmith it and hammer the blade thin, then grind. heat treat, India style.........heat the edge, quench with a kettle of water, leave the spine soft.
