This reminded me of my Great Grandfather's pistol that was passed down to me. It was also manufactured around 1907...
Decided I needed a change. I built this pistol about 7-8 months ago as a .300BLK build. It was cool, but it never got shot because .300 is literally over twice as much as 5.56 to shoot. So it just sat in the safe. I traded for a 5.56 barrel, gave her a coat of FDE and put it all together today. Runs like a sewing machine. I'm not sure if I'm keeping the lower that's on it, so that's why it's still black.
Savage 99E in .300 Savage. Between a 30/30 and a .308 ballistically. Excellent 200 yard performance with 150 grain. Rotary magazine allows pointy bullets. A great deer rifle, and would be a good hog gun I guess.
My uncle had one of these in 300 Savage... I borrowed it a few times, liked it very much. Somehow I missed out on many of the firearms from the older generations.
I have one of these inherited from my Grandfather. It's a takedown though, but it was neglected for several decades so the takedown is currently a little stuck. I cleaned and lubed all the rest of it and just need to pick up some ammo for it. Have not shot it yet, but looks to be a pretty cool gun.
A couple more levers. Both 30-30, one a Winchester 94 and Marlin 336 with a Weaver 4X. The Marlin was my Dad's. He took 7 deer with it in the UP of MI. I can't bring myself too removing the scope even though it might look better. Kind of has that scout look. I like the low mount and eye relief is perfect for the scope. Both over 50 years old.
Picked these two 1970s Lyman 1858 Remington New Armys up at a gun club swap meet, they have some handling marks but seem to be unfired, my first BP revolvers, hoping to get some balls cast one evening this week for shooting this weekend.
Decided to take off the Surefire Procomp and put on a 4 prong flash hider. Cuts down on some of the noise and the Procomp is pretty long. It went to my bolt gun. I'm trying to talk myself out of switching the Bushnell for a Vortex Sparc
