They should have put it on the hammer like on the Taurus! It would have looked better but maybe only taurus can do that.

When you say trade it in are you talking about with Ruger?

44 mag is easier to find here.

I would go to a gun shop and trade it in on some other type of pistol or another Ruger something like that.

I like that you can shoot the .44 special in it also and you can have more ammo choices also.

I really hope it doesn't come to that. You know I won't get a good value on the gun. I just want to hear that Ruger replaced the crane.

I know what you mean Ruger makes great guns!! Have you ever tried lock tight? Also try the FBI load in it and the .38 special 158 grain LSWCHP+P might help it from coming out

I'm iffy about using locktite on a gun and I strictly use 357 because that's what I use when in the outdoors. I for one believe that a person should practice with the same caliber that is in the gun when it is being carried. Maybe not the exact same brand name bullet because that can get really expensive but the same caliber. Practice with a 38 and when it comes a time to draw and shoot a 357....odds are you'll miss the target.
But I'm going to check out those FBI rounds. Never heard of those. Thanks.

I agree with you but the FBI used that in there .357 until they went too autos in 86. I use them and they work very good i fhink all leos used them until everyone went too autos. They are only being made by Remington amd Federal now and the besi place to get them is www.SGAMMO.com and it is .38 special SWCHP+P it is a nasty bullet and gets the job done

Recently purchased the Redhawk 44colt/45acp... so far so good. Plan to load up some hot colt rounds this weekend and give her a good workout.

Yep, I foundled this 357mag at my lgs last week. I really like the 8 shot unfluted cyclinder. Agree the barrel is a little short though.

Love non-fluted cylinders but I think they were going for the Alaskan concept with this one. I'm sure we'll see a longer barrel version in the future. The demand will be there.

Both are right next to each other on the ammo shelf and about the same price. 45Lc has no problem keeping up with .44 mag either.

Is there a .44 special equivalent for the .45LC? I know I can shoot .45 auto but don't like the idea of moon clips.

Yeah .45lc shoots like .44 special with regular loads. But check out corbon ammo. 45lc push a 300 grain at 1300 fps and 1125 fpe if you want to get nasty.

I know you had a problem with ruger revolver but Ruger revolvers are built to withstand higher pressures than any smith and Wesson. They just are. Corbon ammo and reloading books don't say "Smith and Wesson only loads". They say Ruger and T/C only. There is a reason for that.

That's just ridiculous. Now I'm not sure which I'm gonna go with. I know a .357 will dump a black bear so power isn't a problem. I like that I can shoot .44mag and .45LC out of carbines. Which performs better out of a lever gun?
