Had a buddy up from Oregon this last weekend for some Taco mods. We managed to convince a HiLux snorkel that it belonged on his Tacoma instead, and we welded some mounts for his limit straps:
Wife's little Rav 4 we bought her last month. I was so glad when she said she didn't want another mini van. Its not a Tacoma, 4 runner or Fj, but is a limited with 4 wheel drive and a 6 cylinder.
I was going through some pics the other night and thought you all might like these. This winter the Taco will get a new suspension, at least in the rear, and hopefully an ARB bumper. A quick overnighter earlier this year. If I didn't have a Tacoma I'd have an FJ80. This is my buddies and it's an awesome truck.
Thanks. Good to be back. Actually I have already done a trip report on the new forum: http://www.eseeknives.com/forums/index.php?threads/tankwa-karoo-national-park.795/
That thing is sweet but crap at the bottom was this link... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Toyota-Land-Cruiser/262720805113?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=38530&meid=b3c8c8ae05274d80a2f2bb6c5b2106db&pid=100010&rk=3&rkt=6&sd=201718975377 It's cheaper and it's one of my favorite body styles. That's a cruiser I could love. Something about those. I might actually care about dings on that one.
That 79 series is a great truck and I approve. It is the same spec as I saw in Africa, 6cyl standard diesel motor (the ones imported here are only available with the 4.2L V8 Turbo) it would be a great truck. The "Prado" you linked to is interesting. The new version here is the 76series. I actually floated the boat about buying one of those last night.
i've always wanted a 70 series cruiser. one of these days i will import one. i've bombed around in some seriously remote parts of africa in them a few times and i fell in love. ugly, unique, indestructible. edit: specifically a 75 troopy.
Out exploring back roads and dry creeks with my lady. This is where I decided to stop. It was getting to be too much of this and very narrow very fast.
Shop was still flooded. A buddy and I originally planned to mountain bike, but all the trails were closed due to rain. So we did a little off-roading. I did a little side trail that was pretty steep with big ruts. Felt good about myself- then a wild ass kid in a volvo did it.
The only replacement for a good driver is DGAF. I couldn't believe how much rain we got in Santa Barbara when I was there for Christmas.
