Its the everything tobacco thread. I grow my own tobacco for my pipe and love to enjoy the work on the trail. Not a huge pipe collector as the cheap ones smoke just as good as my expensive ones. I dont get quite as cranky if a 15$ pipe gets smashed.

My favorite cigar at the moment. My father flor de las antillas.

I mainly smoke cheapo cigars. I do like an Isla Del Sol on occasion. Cheapos:

I love me a good Pipe or Cigar! I prefer a pipe over a cigar BUT it really depends on the setting. I haven't really been smoking a lot recently because i have no desire to sit outside in the humidity and smoke by myself thou... I am very much a communal smoker :) I recently picked up a nice Argilah or Argileh IE a nice Middle East Hookah when i was overseas. AGAIN big problem is a do not have anyone to share with SO it is sitting on my counter unused. I will get some pictures up when i have a few minutes to snap some :)

I really like the Rocky Patel Edge for a cigar. I have a couple of Missouri Meershcaum pipes, and a couple of briar pipes. I like the corncob pipes the best.

@The Warrior Those antler pipes are really cool.

Thanks man. I was a little worried when I first got one, about whether or not it would smell/taste bad, but I had no issues at all. I lined it with honey, and did a few half bowls at first. No problems. The corn cob pipe is still my fav though. Here's a cool video of the Missouri Meerschaum factory:

I smoke a MM corn cob on occasion mostly when I am out fishing or sitting around the campfire. You can still walk into my local grocery store and walk out for under 10 dollars with a brand new MM legend and a pouch of carter hall or half and half tobacco which in my opinion is a dang good deal (I think cigarettes are averaging over 9 dollars a box now in my state).

My go to camping tobacco is Carter Hall, but I recently picked up a tin of Erik Nordings Hunter Blend Labrador that is really good. What are you guys smoking?

I smoke some cheap cherry blend, haha. A no namer. I really don't smoke the pipe that often, but I still enjoy it when I do.I go through phases with it, tbh. Sometimes I go months without smoking it, then other times I do it daily, until I get burned out on it again.

That's about how I am most of the time, but I had walked into a smoke shop last week on a whim and they had that erik nording on sale and I have smoked every day since then.

I need to buy a sampler, try some different ones out. The cheap stuff is okay, but it does give some serious tongue bite.

I need to pick up a MM pipe. Been leaning to cigars over the summer but with this cold a pipe could hit the spot.

Anyone else grow their own tobacco?

I don't, I'd be interested in trying to at some point though. Is it much different than vegetable gardening?

Like growing a tomato plant. Spent a lot of time pouring through old text books from ag colleges etc.

The trick is drying and curing it. Learned a lot from failure for that. Theres one spot on the farm that if the humidity is high enough the color changes to yellow and then brown. Other places itll green dry and thats bad. Tried to whole plant dry a few this year with lower humidity and only had about 30% green dry.

I order my seeds online. Its super easy to harvest seed for the next year.

Looks like this when color cured. I forget all the lingo as most of it is confusing. It has to age now for a year or more to be pleasing.

That's really cool, definitely something I want to try when I have the time and space to dedicate to it. I just ordered a pouch of 5 brothers to try, it's supposedly a pretty heavy duty tobacco. It is ironic that you started this thread because I hadn't smoked anything other than a few backwoods cigars since this summer, then this weekend I got a new tin and I smoked my pipe all weekend long while I was out hiking.
