i dont drink really and if i did i doubt i would drink hard enough to need to carry liquor with me in my pocket. But ive always liked flasks for some reason. Do any of you carry flasks and wanna post some pics of them?
I bought this kit, but have never used it. I think I may have given it away even: Mini, that I've never used either: Have used this one several times, on outings, as well as my cabin: Forgot about my Stanley:
At one time i carried one in the truck when i lived up north. Never used it but still have it filled with the same whiskey sitting in my office.
@Expat -- you need to step out a little more and let your hair down. How presumptuous of me. You probably don't have a hair on your head.
It's like 6 degrees here today. I'm thinking it might be time to break out the flask and fill 'er up. oh... update before I hit enter. It's 11. Flask emergency over.
People have given me a few over the years but nothing more than novelties. I rarely carry one. When I do it's a plastic on I used to keep in my golf bag - ever since college.
I have one hair left. But its a foot long. With judicious use of a comb and copious amounts of spray and gel, it appears as if I have a full head of hair.
@Expat -- you may not be looking for something this large but my son said it fits nicely in his pack next to his ESEE 6. He sent me this pic.
I've always considered getting a flask, but still haven't. This thread may push me to finally get one. Even if you don't drink I can see a benefit to having a high proof grain alcohol in your gear since it can work as a fire starting aid, antiseptic wash, poison ivy sap wash, and I'm sure many other uses outside of drinking it.
@JMJ -- IT'S ONLY FOR DRINKING, MAN! If you're going to waste the space on dumb stuff like medicine then you need to get one of these.
I have a Stanley flask that they sent me when I was going back and forth with them. It works well for camping since I keep vegetable oil in it for cooking in the cast iron. I hope to leave it out around the campfire at the farm and hope one of you tries to take a big swig out of it....
I didn't say you couldn't drink it also, figured that was an implied use haha! Everclear's a liquid multi tool.
i have a few but i like this vargo titanium that reuben gave me a few months ago. the built-in silicone funnel is a nice feature for refilling...i can never seem to find my funnel for the other flasks when i need it.
I second this. while the Nalgene flask won't win any beauty awards, it holds a lot, the lid separates with a "shot glass", and you can dump the colored sleeve if you dont' want to carry it. And I think it's like $8
I carry a simple one on some trips. Usually in winter time. Prefer to have it filled with Schrobbelèr, a local made drink that's a bit like Jägermeister.... only better
