Wilson PACKLite

@Bushman5 posted the link to the pre-order form for these earlier, but I thought I would post a couple of pics of the latest advanced prototype PACKLite.

Very pleased with how these came out, and we are rolling forward through production. Any feedback is welcome!

What's the handle length and diameter?

 

I don't have one in front of me, but I believe the handle is a little under 4" and they're under 1" diameter.

I will get more testing and use videos as we go along, but here is some work being done with one of the advanced prototypes. They are slicers for sure, but definitely capable of real work.

Just a brief update, blades have been profiled and are moving onto the next steps now. I have them in the shop now and the milling is happening. We're rolling forward!

Another field shot of the PACKLite. The client removed the cord wrap and placed camo tape on the handle and sheath. Also a very cool look!

I fully plan to wrap mine in thin wet rawhide cordage , pulled tight and allowed to shrink tighter as it dries

@Bushman5 Yes sir, that is correct, Feb/March. And we are looking very close to on schedule, also.

 

OK, been working steadily on this project. It looks like we will be able to add knurling to the handle on the PACKLite.

This is something I already do to most of my custom knives, but every machine operation adds to the cost of the project. That plus a few logistical points being factored in, I wasn't sure we could do it. But it looks like the knurling is a go on these. This will allow those that either don't want cord wrap, or need to remove it for emergency use to still have good grip on the knife.

Hunters are the first to come to mind, as cord would quickly get soaked with blood and other matter. A lot of work so far, but glad to be adding value along the way to this project!
