Not sure which area this should go so feel free to move. Just found a tick stuck in my leg but I’ve never seen one like this before. It’s super small and normal tick color from what I could see. Any ideas?
Not sure. I’ve had lots of ticks in my life. Just never seen one that small. When I first saw it I thought it was the tip of a briar that had broke off in my leg. Could be some kind of baby I guess. I circled the area where it was with a black marker. Hopefully my leg doesn’t rot off.
...but think of he hours of pleasure you could have "Bushcrafting" yourself a wooden leg !!!!! Glass half full and all that. That one is smaller than any I have had here, but we do get some small varieties.
I'm paranoid about ticks this year especially for some reason. I cut my beard and head real short just to make tick patrol easier.
I would rather share the woods with more snakes than those sneaky buggers, pulled 17 off the other day roaming the woods. That's mostly what lighter is carried for, good old fashioned tick roastin
@Trailmaster I think that’s a deer tick, some warm years the deer are covered in them even in December. Aggressive and fast moving lil basta#ds. You don’t want to know but get Google images and put in seed ticks. I’ve brushed against dead pine needles for a bout of those more than once. Ain’t being outdoorsy fun?!
I've killed many ticks. Never had one attached to me and always been too dumb to even worry or think about them aside from trying to wear a hat wich doesn't seem like much of an effort
I've pulled off 100+ after a day in the woods more times than i can count. never had any luck with various repellents, so i don't bother with it anymore. base layer helps more than anything, and trying not to wade through too much brush and grass. chiggers are the worst, and i don't think they carry any diseases.
