    @Bozho I agree, they are great knives. I think they fit into the realm of simple things Guy Clark once described as “stuff that works - stuff that holds up - the kind of stuff you don’t hang on the wall.”

    @olywa
    I don’t have calipers but my Gerber Shorty is I believe .088”, while the Pixie is .060”, or something similar according to what I’ve read. Only their Magnum Hunter (the largest in the armorhide line) was .125”. Makes sense since hunting/outdoor knives were originally just repurposed kitchen knives. I think the modern drive toward thicker stock is just a contemporary cultural trend based more on preference than function. Regardless I’m sure looking forward to the CR 3.0, whenever it rears its head. I picked up a Gerber Pixie in the meantime and I’ll see how it performs when I get my hands on it. Might be fun to compare apples to apples one day!

    Nice. I'm trying to convince myself that I need a CR2.5... :D

    What a bunch of enablers here, haha. Well, I've just checked that my local ESEE distributor still have 2 units of the CR2.5 left in the shop; have to find time to pay them a visit soon :)

    My cr2.5 lands Friday finally found one in stocks. My question is kydex sheath. Armats, 7 rattles on etsy., or rk custom on etsy. Anyone have experience with them? Pros cons will be for daily neck carry
    Thanks In Advance

    I can’t give a recommendation on a maker that said I have both a pancake and a taco kydex sheaths for the 2.5.

    Hands down I would pick the taco sheath any day. IMO the pancake style is to bulky for such a small knife to neck carry.

    I have 2 sheaths for the CR 2.5 from RK Custom, one was a gift for my son. His work is finished very nicely with polished edges. The thumb ramp function is great for removing and sheathing the little blade. It's great for neck or belt carry. Erik also made me a few ferro rod loops along with my order. He didn't have them in his storefront at the time and was great with communicating to get me what I wanted.

    With that said, I also have a number of sheaths from Armatus, one was a custom job that I had to send my Gibson necker in for. Matt also makes high quality work and accommodated a custom request from me. He took care of my custom blade and his turnaround time was stellar. His customer service and designs are second to none.

    I've made multiple orders from both shops and would order again from either.

    Thank you everyone for the reply and help. Ordered a sheath from Jason Bennett at rusty blades kydex. I also know if it's like the rest of my esee knives I'll have 3 or 4 of the sheaths before to long. Thank you for your time
