I’ve used CitriStrip which also took some scraping and I’ve used carburetor cleaner that just took sanding afterwards. I eventually switched to hand sanding the blade and spine and leaving the handles painted if the coating goes well with the scales I’m using.
I use Jasco paint remover from Home Depot. You’ll want to do it outside or in a well ventilated area. Cold temps can inhibit the chemical process, so if it’s cold where you are, it’s best to wait until it’s warm or find a room with a good vent.
I saw a video of a guy using Klean strip. Looked like it worked well. Countryprepper on SpewTube. He said you can get it at your local big Chinese box store walmart. It’s a spray.
I used to use the orange can of klean strip and it worked great. The new stuff they have now don't work all that good. Loved Country prepper, may he RIP.
