Scuff up the scales before you try to dye them. Maybe it will help? Good luck sir!

Thanks! Here’s the result of about 50 min of soaking in dye solution, post rinse/wash. The polished backside of the scales didn’t take the dye very well, but the visible outer body of the scales took it pretty good! If you strain your eyes you can see it’s not perfect, but it’s good enough for me. We’ll see how they hold up with use. Hope this is helpful for anyone who might’ve been curious about dyeing these. I’d be surprised if Esee didn’t come out with black scales in the future, and I know tkc is working on some options as well, but I couldn’t wait haha. 873F9DB5-A42C-405D-8BD8-7BBAFB41434A.jpeg 97028EED-CEC2-4100-BC69-A4E0DBE490DF.jpeg D5C9F213-547B-4025-9FDB-C2D1B236CF72.jpeg

Just got this little blade yesterday but loving it already. I figured with a fine little knife some fine tequila and fine cheese to go with it. 20220308_175147.jpg

I am afraid you are going to spoil your new Xancudo treating it like that. :)

That Xancudo has worked it's way into my SAR kit on full time duty... rides under my kit bag and serves me very well.

Probably, but I think she's worth it. Lol
I'm really liking it so far and I'm going to edc it for a while. Even made it a kind of backer, ugly but functional lol. 20220308_192641.jpg 20220308_192823.jpg

Just a quick question. Would there be any want for scales for the xancudo with the caribiner hole? Pic for reference. I need to see how well the regular ones go though also before I put any more money into them. Good resin isn't cheap lol. 51dyJ6Vn1hL._AC_SL1000_.jpg

What’s the blade width on an xancudo?- the measurement from the spine to cutting edge. Thanks!

I took a ruler to it, and it looks to be 1” even, from blade to spine, though obviously that tapers toward the point.

Edit: Upon closer inspection it appears to be 1/32” shy of an inch, if you want to get real specific.

I added a LITTLE too much glow powder I think.. They're supposed to be more silver lol. But I'm having fun making them. I just wish they didn't take so long to cure. 20220310_130742.jpg 20220310_130713.jpg
