Friend of mine broke his Junglas batonning (don't ask), so he handed it to me cause he knows I like to mess with projects when I'm bored. With the very short portion of the blade left, I figured the best inspiration for a large/small blade would be our very own Gibson Pinch. I must say I am digging it.

It turned out a pretty sweet blade. Perhaps could use some holes in the tang with the shorter blade. It could also have been the J3 :D

That's the idea. I'm working over the handle now. I want to keep some of the iconic Junglas handle look while giving it a fresh ergonomic feel for a smaller knife.

Couldn't drill it, so I had to sacrifice the pommel. All in all, I'm happy.

Yeah, the handle is effectively the same size, just balanced it out a bit by losing the pommel weight.

How much cutting edge was lost with the, uh, accident? I have come back to look at that re-profile several times and it looks like a very usable and handy blade. I want to throw it in my Wicked Edge vice and put a keen edge on it.

About 4.75" left, all of which I managed to preserve.

I'd post it on "I wish ESEE made it" thread if I didn't already have one :)

Yikes, that's a big baby. I expect Pinch had to deliver that one by C-section!
