those are definitely on the list. Just trying to find the time is tough. I foolishly promised to make someone a lamp hook for her birthday some time ago, now I have 3 days to make it. humbug... Thinking I'll use this twist as an aspect of it.
A little bit of forging, over the course of several weeks. My schedule is almost clear enough to start on knives again, but just to be sure- I'll be on vacation in a few weeks, with the intentions of focusing on knives pretty good. Until then, I delivered to my co-worker a wall mount lamp hook for her birthday.
this afternoon's fun -- had a buddy help me bend the flat bars. angles were cut out of roll stamped 9/16" steel ballusters, then the ends flattened and bent in the forge. riveted together - I didn't want to clean up weld splatter.
not yet? OTOH, I recently did another challenge to see what could be made from a 6.5" piece of 3/4" square stock (150x19mm) and made the hinges and hasp for this bench/chest Then I decided it needed an easier way to carry it, so I did another challenge piece to make the handles and their hinges. box is a simple 6-board chest: 19" tall, 25 long, and 13 wide with a slight taper to the ends.
