finishing off a couple spools of filament, making benchys for the kids. eventually i'll print a gun or something. ... need to print a jig to finish that 80% receiver i've had for a while, too.
A new bench strop. Also made a smaller one from the offcuts (leather is from a BDSM supply place of all things). Will make a couple more next weekend if the leather arrives and Zombies don’t rise !!!!
First time at making anything kydex. I re-purposed the sheath that I majorly messed up on for the bottom flashlight, lumintop tool AAA and the other is for the thrunite Ti2. Not prefect by all means, but they're functional.
Must have been a good weekend to make strops. Kangaroo leather, charged on red oak and bare on black walnut. This leather is amazing.
I know some guys here that are using a similar setup but with a sleeping mat between the planks. The cheap ones that roll up and have some foil on one side.
......Skippy Suit (Kangaroo Leather) is perfect strop leather !! The tail is the best as I understand it (thinnest and strongest). I am going to do a field strop from tail sometime soon !!
that's what I used, a foam padding from a bed. I had to cut it in half though for it to fit. I used a toaster oven @350°. I just kept an eye on it until it was flexible enough. Sorry, I never received notifications you guys replied.
I didn't expressed myself properly, I meant the tourist/camping ones that are fairly thin, so they can put good pressure on with the boards. One guy is 115 kg and just steps on them
Knocked up another bench strop, it is still clamped as I just have not got back to it. Will finish it up one night later this week.
The Fam was having problems shooting at the targets on the ground. So I decided to build a stand for the targets. Kinda built this from memory and trial and error. Once I install a few braces for the legs it should easily hold both target bags A big win is with scrap wood, 1 fence board plus hardware I figure I only have $5 into the stand!
@erik Free is a very good price The local "Home Improvement" store keeps a bin of free scrap next to the reduced price lumber bin. My 2 favorite bins at the home improvement store!
Had to run to another job site to get bolts and washers for a rooftop unit. Didn’t realize until I was already there I left my tape measure on the drawings table at another job. So I used what I could to guess the correct size for the bolt and washer. Flashlight and a rock worked out perfectly.
