Thanks! I lucked out and got this Izula 2 like new with the midnight tiger scales for a heck of a deal from an old member here @Hammer. I had a regular Izula years ago that I just had a paracord wrap on and the TKC’s really change the feel and handling for me. 4/5 of my Esee’s have TKC scales in midnight tiger.

Hell yeah!! I bought my 15yr old daughter an izula 2. And then got her the lavender TKC scales for them which she absolutely loves! I have tkc scales on my 3 and extended ones on my 4 and really like them. It gave the 3 a much fuller feel to it and the 4 just became an entire new knife all together. Abit expensive but definitely worth it.

I had the extended TKC’s on one of the 3’s I sold, it really did change the feel and handling of that knife for me. You’re definitely right about them being a bit pricey, but I’ve never been disappointed with the upgrade after using them.

No definitely not disappointed at all. To take an already good knife and make it a great one is priceless to me.

My Izula 2 is always riding at 1:00 on my belt so it just ends up being too handy to use it that go to the knife block in the kitchen if I’m not needing something chefs knife sized.

I got the urge to take the edge of my Izula down a bit this weekend. Don’t know the degrees but I used the diamond stone and kept the spine about 3 mm above that. Yeah sorry I like the metric system.

Edge turned out super sharp and pops hairs like a razor.

Why …well I was thinking about how my dad would always have us take the edge down on our 110s for hunting and the edge was always ridiculous sharp. Thought I’d try it on an Izula. Now I’m thinking about doing this to my 4 I use for hunting.

I took my Izzy edge down to 17DPS. It gets sharp as hell but it dulls so quickly. I wonder if its possible to mess up the heat treat on the powder coated blades from getting the blade too hot on the sander.

I believe it's safe up to 350° if I recall right, but can't remember 100%. But I do know it's possible to mess it up if it gets too hot. Your best bet is to use a diamond stone to reprofile it back to 20°. It shouldn't take take all that long.
