Maybe it's me.But ESEE Knives seem to age really well.

With a lot of knives, the best they will ever look is the day you take them out of the box.
They look great and then you put them to work. Or at least you should.

What's the sense of having a beautiful knife if all it does it sit in a draw to be protected.

Don't get me wrong. ESEE knives look sweet out of the box. They have a purpose driven look to them.
Like "I'm here to do a job, not be a safe queen"

But as you use them they seem to improve even more.
They take on a working patina. Sort of like an old well used Marbles Ideal.
They just seem to get better with age and use.

Strigidae's PR-4 below is what prompted me to post this thread. That well worked edge is just a thing of beauty,

I agree, a well worn knife is a thing of beauty. I'll also admit I have far too many esee knives that look close to the day I got them!

Couldn’t agree more! All mine look used hard and well maintained. I made the comment recently on another forum I’m on that I’m not a fan of “Gucci” steels and that I prefer good ole 1095 cause if used a lot overtime the patina starts to tell it’s own story. My Junglas has started getting a piebald effect from all the wax myrtles and other sappy swamp plants I cut with it at work. Great thread!
