Is there anyone here that does sharpening for people?

I have a Busse Forsaken Gemini that’s edge is way to thick and want it thinned out.

I might be able to help you out. I have a Tormek system so I can get pretty precise on the angle. Hit me with DM if you still have the itch.

Still working on this CR2.5 tonight. I think I'm going to have to get it on my Lansky system and just rework the edge of the blade.

I do it with an Edge Pro Professional and diamond stones. Reach out to me if you’re interested.

Is the angle on the esee arrowheads also 20° or are they 0? I'm etching and stripping a couple of them and I'm hoping to sand them, but that will dull them.

    I miss that system :(

Anyway, I buy the 8 pack of these Powerade's IMG_20210120_183413335.jpg IMG_20210120_202912605.jpg and I've been using the 4 and now my 3 to just cut in between them. It's easier than twisting. So I was cutting in between two and didn't realize I cut into the bottle until I looked back and it was pouring out.

Got bored so stropped it for about 30 minutes and removed the patina. IMG_20210218_001243325_HDR.jpg IMG_20210218_001352577_HDR.jpg IMG_20210218_001410242_HDR.jpg

What stropping compound are you using?

I got a 4 or 5 piece set of compound from lowes, not sure the brand but I use the black first then the green.

I also use black and green. Once the edge bevel is even throughout its length and there is no burr left, the strop does work pretty decent.

Before and after. I have no clue what the person used it on but there were chips throughout the edge. And 4 hours later.... Still need to strop it. IMG_20210330_122111842.jpg IMG_20210330_122116854.jpg IMG_20210330_122127224.jpg IMG_20210408_155548555.jpg IMG_20210408_155553723.jpg

How do you guys sharpen your Junglas? Mine needs some attention but I'm not great at hand sharpening and not sure I can free hand it without doing more harm than good. I can keep it touched up but I've neglected it and it needs a good solid sharpening session.

I use a the same puck I use for my axe and hatchets when I sharpen my long bladed knives. I can't keep a consistent angle with a traditional stone style of sharpening.

My advice is for a large Norton India stone - the double sided one - coarse/fine.
If you are able to keep a consistent angle on a smaller blade, I am sure you will also do it on the larger one. Might use some cheap large kitchen knife for practice.
I don't have a Junglas yet, but have used this to sharpen a Trailmaster, which is also a large blade.

What's the best way to sharpen a large, 9", blade? I have the lansky but this knife is pretty heavy and I suck at stone sharpening.
