Finished up the sheath today, tried a few new things. First time with a left handed carry. Also put a slight cant, seems like it would be easier to draw. Also made some flint strikers real quick, first go around, and was a fail with stress cracks. But still worked surprisingly well. Poor design, but it'll hold.
Grinder was already setup for handles, so I roughed these out. Originally planned to work on blanks for heat treat, but couldn't find my dang contact wheel for the surface grinder. This coming week, I'll be putting in a few hours a day in the shop before work. Hopefully things fall into a rhythm if time permits.
Been slowly working on the big batch of blanks to send out to ht, but took little brakes to finish up these three for testing. H/T prepping blanks, sure wears me out.
Been super busy for a while, and havent had nearly enough time for the shop. But I managed to finish an old order. This one is special to me, in that the handle material was bog oak, that was carbon dated to be 3,720 years old. Pins used were copper corby, and a mosaic in place of the lanyard tube. Copper liners were also used. It just needs one final cleanup and a sheath. Hopefully very soon, I can get into the shop regularly again. I'd love to catch up on everything.
Thanks, it's been too long. Thank you, trying Get back into a rythym. Ive already screwed up 3 knives trying to get back to normal lol.
