I know I have said this before, but golly, can ESEE offer a larger handle on the 4? For the third time, I bought one of the S35VN ESEE 4, and have had to go to TKC and spend $57 additional to get a handle that makes the knife workable. I would not mind paying y'all more up front if that kept me from having to do this.

Did you get one with the 3d scales?

I agree. I've had a regular 3 and two regular 4s before finally getting the HM versions of each, which made huge difference. In fact so much of a difference, that now I can't stand thin handles after using the HMs for a while.

You should just have gone with a 3 or a 6 ;) I never really understood the 4. Too stout a blade for the small handle, as you imply. The handle fits perfectly for the more nimble, thinner blade on the 3.

IW17, yes, mine came with the new scales. They are beautiful, but unusable for my.
I really do like the ESEE 4, and now this new one is usable. Custom scales from TKC arrived today.

Dude! What size gloves do you wear? Your hands make the four look like a 3!

laughing. I wear XXL gloves and a size 15 ring. Handle size is important for me.

Got it. You need the extra length. I agree actually. The contoured scales work on the 3, but the longer blade on the 4 needs a bit more real estate. The handle seems like it wants to pry out of my hands if I use the front half of the blade.

I feel your pain! Same size gloves I wear, that’s a main reason I passed on getting a 4 and went with the Laserstrike.

There are always 'outliers' in the range of hands so it is impossible for us to design for everyone including the folks with larger than normal hands. The 3D and HM handles are the best we can do to help folks with large hands. I've also have folks with very small hands complain that the ESEE 4 handles are uncomfortably large. )
