It came out good, sure it may have a little scorched spot. I used to work for a chef who said it was just his oven giving him a kiss when he got burnt. This is one of my favorite things to do with a leather sheath. Normally I leave it in for ~10 or 15 min on the lowest setting and then wet form with melted beeswax. It can be a little messy, but the end result is like you said. Retention like kydex.
Thanks! Next time I will do it on the lowest setting and with beeswax for sure. This time I used only water. I might even try it on this one if it become loose over time.
Proper sharp now, in a few sharpening sessions it will be purrrr-fect Sharpening 1095 on an oil stone is just a pleasure.
Waiting for my Junglas from Amazon like a Kid on Christmas eve. I just got my new RB3 what a fantastic blade!! See ya latter Mora! lol I made my 1st spoon with it. Its my favorite so far.
Well....for some odd reason I felt that I needed an Esee4. Cant say I blame myself for such great choices hahaha.
My leather sheath came in from Esee.... Stained it up dark and filed the 4's Spine. It will live in the leather for low belt carry.... and I also have the kydex for high belt carry.. or the polymer to tie on a pack. All set.
Just watched this and thought I'd share. Looks like some ESEE 4 action in there!!! Probably more for affirmation for me because it's my favorite (I have 3 of them) and it's the first ESEE I owned.
That's cool. I watch this guys stuff alot on YouTube. Mad respect for him. I just got my esee 4 2 weeks ago and really have taken a licking to it over my 3 and my 6. It's the perfect midsize knife in my humble opinion. But I love all my esee blades to no end.
