So it is now clear more than one person wears a chest rig of some sort here. Now lets see your load out, what do you put in these things? I could see where you could easily start filling them up and attaching things to the outside to quickly make them unwieldy.

    Thanks in advance

I am still finalizing my base load out in my V2 Original Kit bag (no pictures yet):

Right now I have G19, TQ, small med kit (bandages), EMT shears, fire kit (matches, ferro rod), lighter, head lamp, small AAA LED flashlight, whistle, button compass, Leatherman, Para cord, bandana, trail mix, 2m HAM radio on the outside, ESEE 3 or MORA strapped on the bottom. I add more depending on what I am doing that day.

Check out the HPG write up on "What to Carry", https://hillpeoplegear.com/Education/Equipage. It covers EDC to a multi day hike and talks about the general thoughts to specific examples.

My load out varies day to day. This weekend in my recon kit bag was a glock 20 in the main compartment, and in the front pouch was a synch bag for morels and a bag of assorted, fruit lifesavers. Damn I love those things.

I've only taken my kit bag on one hike so far and I really didnt need most of what I was carrying. I mostly just filled it with stuff to see how it would carry. Im still developing my system, but heres what's currently in it...

    Front pocket

    20190807_222527.jpg
    20190807_222611.jpg
    Leatherman Wingman
    Zebra pen
    Waterproof notebook
    Streamlight Microstream
    Bacon Flavored Toothpicks
generic Exotac Nano xl (want a real one)
    SAK alox farmer

    Middle Pocket
    20190807_222708.jpg
    20190807_223026.jpg
Emberlit Original Titanium (want to replace with firebox nano or emberlit fireant)
    India stone in homemade sheath
Navigation kit -(suunto compass, waterproof notebook, nite ize trekker pen, nav cards)
Survival tin- (fresnel lens,Bic, beeswax chapstick, duct tape wrapped around cut off pen section w/ a few different sizes of needles in it, water purification tablets, mirror, cotton balls)
Boo boo kit (bandages, gauze, tweezers, scissors)

    Back /CCW pocket
    20190807_223217.jpg

I currently cant carry a ccw so it holds a velcro backed admin panel with an attached maxped holster that holds my bk14. In the back pocket is a thermal blanket, a chem light at the bottom and in the little front pouch is a spork and waterproof container with spare batteries.

This is new to me so please feel free to make suggestions.

Wow! These HPG chest bags seem to carry all the stuff you need + a firearm and a spare mag! Truly awesome.
Since I got a chest bag to carry my gun while hiking, I have started to really appreciate that design.
HPG seems to be making awesome products, but they are crazy expensive here in Europe - the Heavy Recon costs more than twice than my 42 liters cordura hiking backpack.

I absolutely LOVE my SAR kit bag. Mounted externally I have an Izula II, a titanium spork, a grimlock to carry gloves, Gen 7 CAT tourniquet(in a NAR pouch), red chem light and a 1" red medical cross to indicate first aid is inside.

The front pocket contains the things I want to get to fast. There's a small booboo kit consisting of Gorilla duct tape and med tape flat-folded, 4" gauze pads and a 4" Israeli bandage; plus my favorite trick: 1" segments of a McDonald's straw heat-sealed on the ends and containing triple antibiotic ointment. It's multi-purpose, suitable for wounds and fire starting. A couple chest seals are also in there.

In the same pocket I keep chap stick, a contact lens container with advil and my daily RX, Surefire ear pro, an emergency whistle, water purification tablets and hand sanitizer. Oh, and a no-frills red/white Coast headlamp.

The middle pocket contains the rest of the kit. A 5.11 Light Writer Patch holds an ESEE basic survival card and fresnel lens in the credit card pocket, and a Leatherman and AAA light in the loops. A HPG 58 pouch holds a Zebra micro pencil, mini Sharpie, Bic lighter, ferrocerium rod, a small container of UCO matches, a sizable amount of cordage and spare AAAs. Also in this pocket are a Rite in the Rain notebook and wet wipes for...wiping...things. I rotate in and out a couple of sweet snacks, which tend to be Snickers and/or Clif bars. I'm pondering adding a Suunto compass, though I tend to not wander far from forest I know quite well.

The back pocket contains a kydex trigger guard on a short lanyard, attached to the dummy loop, for one of the stable of Glocks. Typically a 17 loaded with 147 grains if I'm wandering in the woods.
