What’s the difference between the Endura 4 and regular Endura? I’ve had a couple Delica’s back in the 90’s, but haven’t kept up with Spyderco models and differences since then. Reason I ask is I got this one in yesterday and I’m loving it so far. Endura 4 waved from Lonewolf Distributors with the Glock armorers tool as a back spacer.

The Gen 4s (Delica and Endura) have been around since ~2000. Main difference is the screw construction vs the old pinned. They've changed a few other things also but they are so minor that most will never notice.

The waved Endura, like the Delica and Endela, is a great knife. I know it gets thrown into the "knives for self defense" category usually, but it really shines as a work knife. Even more so it you wear gloves often. Sometimes my gloves are thick enough that I can't get a finger on the hole of a folder to open it.
The wave solves this problem two fold: you can wave it out as designed or you can snag the wave notch thingy with your gloved finger to open it. Kind of like the hood openers Spyderco occasionally uses.

I only wish they offered the Emerson knives in combo-edge and with brighter colored scales.

Got this yesterday while I was out on snow duty. Missed having an 0562. The 20CV blade should perform tremendously for EDC.

Thanks for the explanation! I think I misinterpreted @Caleb O ’s post I quoted thinking he meant the Endura 4 was larger than the original Endura. I completely agree on the wave opening feature, I still work a large amount of time from boats wearing gloves and it’s been great. I had one of the Kershaw/Emerson collaboration’s with the wave feature and really liked the way it was easy to open, but didn’t like the quality of the knife overall. I’m around saltwater a large amount of time and the cheap Chinese steel would rust pretty easily, seems like the VG10 of the Endura 4 will solve that. The main difference I noticed between this 4th generation and the Delicas I had is the modern pocket clip vs the ones molded into the scale.

If the salt water becomes too much of an issue maintenance wise with the Endura try one of the Pacific Salts, either H1 or Lc200N, with the 5x5 Pickpocket like @Caleb has on his Police LW.

Awesome, I’ll keep that in mind. I think part of my issue with the China made Kershaw was it getting the $25 beater treatment doing cutting tasks that I always take more care after doing with better knives. I carry my stripped Izula 2 and use it often, but knowing it’s carbon steel I always wipe it off and apply a little Burt’s Bee’s cracked hand balm to it.

Hey thanks man. I really like the little knife. It’s very gentlemenly if that’s a word lol. This one is a JSR exclusive from Lt Wright. It’s their Buckeye model in D2 steel. Very nicely done smooth bone on black liners. It’s small. Like maybe between a candiru and izula. Sharp knife in more ways than one! I’ll take some more pics in a bit. I’ll grab my wife’s Izula for a size comparison
