IMG_20201230_140115332_HDR.jpg I just picked this one up a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe I've never had a Ka-Bar Dozier before. But when I saw they had a new one out in D2 steel I had to get one. It's a sweet blade.

I'm a fan of the Phat Bob, but it was disco'd. Took it to sea my first year back out on a boat.

Think I discovered the image problem. My image URL's are http, not https. My host doesn't https (it just serves files, no auth etc.). Chrome began auto-"upgrading" http to https for mixed-content pages back in March, and NOT falling back to http. I'll see if my admin (my friend) can upgrade the service. Stinks, I wonder how many pages of broken links I've unknowingly not been showing to Chrome users. Hell, *I* use Chrome for all kinds of things (but not forums).

Finished those blades on Thursday, delivered in person on Friday, and within half an hour one was slaughtering and processing a domestic duck. Couldn't ask for a better compliment (ok, repeat business is the best, but that seems likely too :)):

One of my Jeff White knives. It's very comfortable in-hand, and quite a slicer. 3/16" blade stock, so super tough. I think I'm going to reshape the spine a hair, with a bit more drop into the tip. Otherwise I'm quite content with this one.

Thank you. It’s ~ 4” blade, 3/16” thick, 80crv2 ~61 HRC with brown linen on one side and black canvas on the other.

I needed to debone some meat tonight so I got out an old favorite. Saddle Mountain Hunter. When my favorite field knives get discontinued by the manufacturer they get retired to home use only. This one and a Buck 101 are the two retirees so far.

I never got to like the skinner version of this model. Wish they discontinued that one and kept this one.
