Hahaha it's the blade The Knife Connection had made for their Architect line. The knife is made by TOPS and uses the 5/6 scales. I needed to replace my 6 that I sold and this was a perfect fit. I love drop points and saber grinds so it was a winner!

Finally finished this commission that's been in progress awhile: a kosher-slaughtering-style knife for ritual sacrifice of wood-pellet bags. Imagine holding a large wood pellet bag in a headlock against your chest and sort of cutting its throat (or perhaps gut) to spill all the contents into the pellet stove hopper. Purpose-driven design. :) With sacrifice-traditional ram's horn scales over ruby red G10 liners. First use of flared tubes. Blade is 5+" of differentially hardened 1084.

I purchased a BHK Highlander in late winter/early spring. Got it used with a kitchen use patina from the previous owner. I am really liking this knife, used it all summer, and took it with me out to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in August. However, when I look at the patina it came with and how it hasn't changed much since I owned it, I decided to make the knife my own and put my own forced patina on it for something different (as I don't expect to use it much on foods). This is the first patina I have tried to put on a knife and am happy with how it turned out. It is a user knife so I am excited to see how it changes in future.

Here is how the knife looked when I started...

I did a little research on what can be used to force a patina and found that I can use pretty much any kind of food that has some acidity to it. I went with some kiwi and strawberry pieces from breakfast, a couple pieces of onion from lunch, and some yum yum sauce, ketchup, and spicy brown mustard. After seeing different forced patinas I found that I really liked the spots technique so I went with this to see how it would turn out. Here are the pictures of the first application, I did each side separately...

    Here is the second applicaton...

And the final product. I know that everyone isn't a fan of forced patinas but I am really happy with how it turned out! :D The pictures give a good idea of how it turned out but as with most outdoors things, it looks must better in person.

I actually like some forced patina's. I played with them a bit myself some years back. If interested you can search them out.
    Yours is definitely interesting. ;)
