Can't believe some of the prices I'm seeing out there. I just got an email from Recoil Gun Works and what jumped out at me was $29.99 for 50 rounds of 124gr FMJ 9mm. I realize there's been a shortage since march but damn. Is that the state of things?
That’s not even as bad as I have seen even the big box stores are crazy it’s cheaper to buy.45-70 than 9mm
Im glad i didnt sell my mosin nagant, bought up a buncha that ammo back when it was .13 cents a round. Not the most fun to shoot but itll serve.
Manufacturers can't meet demand, plain and simple. Most were already running at maximum capacity before COVID19/Riots/Godzilla's rampage. Depending on election results, future COVID issues and whether or not they find those little twin princesses to summon Mothra before the ship gets here with Kong the ammo situation will either settle down by Spring or get waaaayyyyyyyy worse.
Imagine being on the other side of the world relying on America for your ammo imports................ For the love of god.
Check Rural King. They have a limit now but prices have not increased. Hit or miss with 9mm in stock but frequently have .40, .45, .308 and 7.62x39. Picked up 9mm Federal a few weeks ago at about .19 per round.
Thanks for posting the name of that site. Somebody here needs it. I don't need any. I've got 50 or 100 rounds of 9mm and a box of 20 for the '06 so I'm good. I'll leave some for everyone else. I was just mostly noticing how the world is spinning off it's axis in regards to ammo.
I could tell you some horror stories. I watched a dude with a Toyota Taco sell multiple cases of 5.56 for a buck per round a few weeks ago and a case of 9mm Wolf for 1k. Since I don’t own firearms, I couldn’t understand the fuss.
Went to a gun show today and witnessed the absurd prices on ammo... it was actually nice to see boxes of .223 but at those ridiculous prices, I ain’t buying. Also, the knife options were weird... a **** ton of cheap stuff, but the good knives were way more overpriced and hardly any vendors had any decent fixed blades... saw many, many Benchmades at a range from $150 - $400. I hated wasting $7 to walk around without buying anything... well, I did buy 2 bags of PaPa’s beef and pork jerky!
I'm not against a guy getting as much as he can for a commodity item per se. Especially if the unknown future doesn't guaranty a resupply, I don't wanna sell something at a reasonable price to somebody, just to be a "good dude" only to have them flip it and make all the profit out of it. I've had hard lessons in that. That being said, I used to have 4 boxes of 9mm and I loaned out 2 of them to a co worker back in march. Yeah he's gotta buy me two new boxes when the craziness ends.
That's what I have been hearing, I haven't looked for myself though. It's going to be even worse when the zombies show up. 2020 ain't done yet.
True story... picked up 2 boxes of .45-70 Friday for $53 bucks total. I was just telling my wife... I bought 1k of .223 and 1k of 9mm right before all this craziness... it's sitting on top of my safe - but I need to pull out the guns that shoot them, and put the ammo inside the safe because right now, the ammo is pretty much worth more then the guns that shoot them lol.
I bought 3 boxes of .450 bushmaster maybe like 2 months ago it was was $45 after rebate.... kinda kicking myself for not building a bushy AR....
I don't have much .308, or .270 and no .243. I wouldn't need any if my dad didn't give me the rifles, I wouldn't buy anything chambered in those calibers because I didn't want to buy ammo for them.
Just stopped into a Bi Mart here in the Eug, They had a little Barnaul 5.56 for $7.97 per 20 Most hunting calibers in stock. The only pistol caliber was 10mm fmj $18.99 At least they had a G20 10mm pistol to sell.
