I guess I am overthinking it. I still have to do the etch to my Laser Strike when it arrives and my wife’s Candiru when it comes as well. I cannot recall but how thick is the powder coating on the Esee blades?
I blot first to pick up the acid and then hit it with a spray bottle of soap water mix then hit it with an extra AR15 cleaning brush since it has stiffer bristles, rinse with very warm water wish the brush and dry off with a paper towel, until dry and then hit it again with the Ferric Chloride.
My candirus so far, the one on the far left I am slowly polishing it up as time permits, the middle is my EDC, the one on the right has the best etch job I have done to date but the darn thing is blacked out and hard to see... What is a good option to color fill with out having it mess with the powder coating?
That’s what I am thinking but just need to figure out what type of thinner won’t attack the powder coating. Might have to use acrylic thinned with iso alcohol?
I just picked up one of these little suckers at SMKW. Time to dive into this thread. I'm going to experiment with a handle wrap tonight.
That’s a cool looking area. I’d definitely toss a fly in there to see if any fish wanted to meet the Candiru.
I just finished wrapping up my new Candiru. I always like small fixed blades like this. I don’t know why it took me so long to get one of these.
