    Hello Everyone,

This one was recently completed, it is the prototype L.I.T. Knife (Lightweight Incendiary, Tinder).

This knife features a 3.5" long blade of 1/8" O1 tool steel, @ 59 HRC and flat ground to a good working edge. OAL length is approximately 8.25".

This one is unique in that it has a green canvas micarta handle with red liners, while still being a Hollow Handle knife. The micarta handle has an ovoid shape, so it will not roll in the hand and is very comfortable. Brass ferrule, and aluminum buttcap. The 5/16" thick ferro rod is permanently fixed in the buttcap, thus the "Incendiary" part of the name. There is just enough space left over in the handle for some tinder, rounding out the package.

The micarta is left at a grippy finish. There are some slight brown flashes in this micarta, but is aesthetic only. I tried to capture it in the pics. These are going to be kept simple finish wise, both to reflect the price and to be consistent with traditional puukkos.

Continuing with the puukko theme is a hand-sewn back stitched leather sheath, complete with wooden liner. It is setup for neck carry, but there is also a hole punched so you can easily add a dangler.

Weight of knife w/buttcap and firesteel is 4.9 oz, and knife and sheath together are 6.25 oz.

    Price is $325 + shipping.

First come, first served on this, simply reply with an "I'll take it" and we'll go from there. Thank you for your support!

I'm thankful. I shouldn't spring for one of these at the moment, but I'll probably be adding one of these eventually. I'll give you time to come up with a few more cool features first.

Not pressure, I just know you'll squeeze in something else for the next version.

The design is good but $325 is a bit expensive.

Probably about right for a, from scratch, handmade (and unique) blade I would suggest.

@Camouflage If that knife is a bit expensive, then your comment is a bit rich.

I’m with you. It’s not like he’s creating really unique knives that you can’t find anywhere else. And it takes almost zero time or skill to create elliptical shaped handle of micarta fitted around a machined metal tube. And don’t even get me started on leather sheaths like that, they practically make themselves.

If Chinese companies using child labor labor and unknown steel can churn out $30 survival knives, I don’t see why Sam should charge more than that.

I realize Matthew is being sarcastic haha but for the sake of keeping the peace...I don't think a page where someone is trying to sell their hard work is somewhere their work and time should be diminished. Just because it's not your taste or you don't see the value in it, you can't ignore the fact that a lot of work and time goes into any custom knife. It's fine to have an opinion about something, but don't try to take away from someone's livelihood just because you don't value what they've done.
I know this isn't the place to get into this, but just thought I'd leave my two cents. Admins feel free to delete these comments. Thanks.
