I picked up one of these a couple weeks ago after seeing this thread. The Pinch has become my new EDC blade.
So, I have the Pinch, Candiru, Izula, Izula 2, 3, 4, and 5 with multiples of the Candiru, Izula, and 4.
Does this mean I'm an ESEE addict???

I had one of these... Until my wife saw it and ive not seen it since. Having her take it is way better than owning it myself.

It's a neat little edge. I won't call it a knife because it simply doesn't qualify to be a knife, in my opinion, but it is a handy sharp edge. The sheath is awesome.

It is a bit small for me. I do like the sheath though. I’m sure the pinch would be perfect for slicing up garlic. Turns out I really like the candiru best for a small knife.

I did a video on the pinch a little bit back. I was a little too optimistic for my subscribers without showing the meat behind the review, which is GOOD! The burden of proof is on me, so the next vid ill make sure to show a lot more use and explain things based on that.
Anyways, man, im loving the pinch! It fots in a coin pocket like it wasnt even there if anyone is wondering :)

Don't know why I bought this, it says ESEE and was twenty bucks, didn't ask myself for a second if I had a use for it. For the size it fits the hand amazingly well and in a few different grip methods. I can see it being a handy little tool at a well stocked camp. Mine will go in an Altoids tin with a ferro rod and tinder, taped shut, banded, and promptly lost somewhere under a car seat.....................

Mine fits right in the same little pouch as does my leather man wave.

    Awesome backup blade.

So I picked one of these up when I bought my V2 & it has sat around waiting for me to find the time to etch it like I have done ALL of my ESEE Knives. So I taped off the edge really good & dropped it in a mason jar with my etching solution & when I pulled it out...there were no logos....no serial numbers...Nothing. Is there something that I missed?

You were trying to etch the logos? That won’t work on a blade with no coating. You say you have done all your Esee’s like this. Were any of those knives uncoated?

All my ESEE Knives have the normal factory coating on them. I guess I didn’t realize that the Pinch didn’t have some form of coating on it. I thought the “durable black oxide finish” would react the same as the typical ESEE coating on their blades.

So besides the knives sold as “uncoated” which other ESEE, Gibson, or Expat blades can’t be etched?

From my experiences playing with Esee knives since 2012. Only the coated knives can be etched. The black oxide isn’t thick enough is the best way I can explain it, to hold the etching solution in place. So anything that’s not coated cannot be etched. Well at least the factory logos cannot be etched. I’ve seen people do other etching jobs using stencils.
