During my second deployment I watched a group of dudes drag around giant tiles with bikes like these and build temporary flight lines.

I’m pretty mechanical inclined but if it comes to small engine type repairs Im in trouble..

I’m looking at the Dalton Highway road trip to the Artic ocean in the next couple of years. So I have some time to work it all out.

I dug around a little after you mentioned the KLR and it looks like it can be easily set up with a sidecar. That looks like a little more in my range then the BMW.

That temporary air strip matting is kinda cool. If you get bored look it up, long history for use in Vietnam, brought home and staged for the Cold War then eventually disposed of for use in a bunch of civil works projects in national parks and building long sections of the southern border wall.

@RocketmanDane it would suprise me if someone didn't offer Ural/other sidecar rentals for routes as popular as the Dalton.
