Looking for some info on any Japanese Hamidashi, Aikuchi, or Tanto blades.

Post pics if you have any.
    Thanks.

I used to have a few swords. They were stolen with all my other blades back in 2013. My favorite was a Paul Chen Banshee. None were considered small swords though.

I did not like this because I “like” it.
Man, that is aweful. Blades were targeted, or just happened to get hit and they found your
    Blades.

I hate putting personal stuff on the web for this sort of thing. Most of us can be tracked down, one way or another.

For the record...I have no Japanese swords either. Wanting a trace pattern and photos. Just looking for some info.

Sorry basterds broke into 5 houses in my neighborhood that day. I wasn’t targeted but they sure made out with all my ****. Lost my first Esee’s that way. Esee 5 serial #6507 is out there somewhere and it was stolen from me. Can’t remember the numbers on the Izula said. Assholes. Anyway. I want a sword now lol

Sorry you lost your swords and other blades.
    I despise a thief.

I am just looking for a pattern and some measures.

I don’t own any swords but I’ve always really wanted one. There was a maker on Bladeforums named Damon Lusky. I believe he worked under Fletcher knives before starting his own company called Alfa Knives. I liked most of his designs and even got to handle his AK2 knife. But he came up with a short sword that was a wakizashi variant that I absolutely loved. It was amazing. Here’s a few pics of them... 8B9C110D-11D8-471C-866F-43A47DD15F2F.jpeg D9DDC289-7166-4A75-AABA-5239F0ACE852.jpeg

To me the handle is a little too long. I think that having a handle much longer than 2 hand widths is a waste. It would seem to get in the way if you were making slashing cuts where you were trying to keep your hands as close to your body as possible...just my thoughts... Are you gonna try making one, @SEMO?

Been working on a hamidashi/short tanto.
those are cool looking pieces. Handle does seems a bit long.

I am currently building a piece that I and calling a hamidashi. It is longer than what we would call a knife, but shorter than a sword. Have never held one in hand, and so I am building solely off of pictures.
