I’ve got a big ole cleaver from one of the nations leading sticker companies. Works great for butchering game and domestic stock.
Had to be out and about today in town so I hit a Publix for some groceries. The only thing they seemed to still be low or out of were some canned goods, eggs, TP and paper towels. They'd lifted their two items per customer limit for the meat sections.
Walmart had their brand whole and 2% milk marked up to $10/gal in the NW Ohio Area. I filed a complaint with Ohio AG
And Michigan banned boats with any motors (electric or gas) All big box stores have to rope off areas that the STATE considers non-essential...including furniture, hardware, paint AND gardening (Including fruit and vegetable seeds!!!) The grocery stores are running out of food but people aren’t allowed to grow their own food or buy items to fix/repair their house and landscaping And they banned travel between residences unless it’s to care for someone basically Crazy times
That’s really weird because in Indiana the milk is going bad before they can get rid of it. The demand has fallen tremendously with the closure of so many restaurants. Saw how dairy companies were having to pour the stuff out.
here they are dumping milk by the tanker load. Farmers are literally milking and then pouring it out on the barn floor.
It’s only Walmart though. I shop at the Meijer a mile down the road and their milk is on sale because they overbought in anticipation of the supposed second wave of hoarding that was supposed to take place last week.
Smithfield, who according to the article linked below, produces 4-5% of the pork consumed domestically. The South Dakota plant, which employees 3700, has over 250 positive tests for COVID-19. They initially wanted to do a 3-day closure. Governor is asking for 2 weeks (or more). https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/12/business/meat-plant-closures-smithfield/index.html
