I got in some bow drill practice with my little man a few weeks ago. It was a great day to walk the woods and collect all of my "go to" plants for a bird's nest. @480 RUGER what pouch is that and how did you attach it? I currently have my sheath set up with the "large" ESEE 5/6 sheath pouch, a kydex ½" ferro rod loop, and an old mil-surp AK pattern rifle sling. I'd like to use the ESEE sheath pouch for my GB 6HM.

It's a maxpedition pouch I don't recall the model exactly but it has a sleeve on the back pretty much like you see on the front with the Velcro strip built in. I just added an industrial strength Velcro strip to the front of the sheath, slid it in with a piece of plastic between the hook and loop pulled out the plastic and stuck them together. It is super secure and looks like it was made that way.

@480 RUGER nice brother. I really appreciate you getting back to me and kicking me an extra pic. That helps me out big time.

It is a Maxpedition Janus pouch I believe. I would check Amazon if you have it as they have always seem to have the lowest price on maxpedition gear I have found. Be warned that here is a significant difference in price for each color. I have seen them going almost double for some colors.

Danke schoen. I'm a shameless Amazon skank so I'll be sure to check out their selection. Thanks for taking the time to catch this and respond Dane.

Amazon pretty well put ebay out of my vocabulary. Much more straightforward.

Anybody got pics of a Junglass II, and an original six side by side for comparison? I'm thinking they're pretty close in size? ;)

    • Overall Blade Length: 8.38″

Thanks, aside from weight, this is exactly what I wanted to know.

A significant difference. The JII is quite a bit heavier though I don't have the actual weights.

Do you even chop bro? :D Here's the beast with my baldric rig. I've been meaning to get a pic of my kit on here. It's an old ak rifle sling, a shackle, the large sheath pouch, and a ½" kydex loop and ferro rod. Tonight we're getting around a campfire for smores so I had to go and chop down some palmetto fronds for marshmallow skewers.

I love seeing I’m not the only one running a large sheath pouch that way. Very similar setup on my J1 sheath, just have a chest wader belt and Tek Loks in the place of he AK slink and shackle.

I stripped, blued, and squared mine this weekend. It was a fun little project.
