Well I broke down and ordered one. Looks like a good edc model. This one will have a short review on my website, https://thisoldknife.com/
I like mine also. Good little knife. The s35 isn’t what drew me to the knife. It was the size shape and looks that I like. As far as being a “better” steel I haven’t experienced that and probably never will. I would have been just as happy with the same thing in 1095
Already have one. Liked it so much, I ordered another, this one with the carabiner hole in the handle. Oh, I ordered a new 3 as well. Should show up tomorrow!
hey folks...I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on this knife as you get more dirt time on it....Personally I feel like this Xancudo in the S35vn has great application for a game/fishing knife and have been VERY pleased with it...
Does anyone know of a retailer that has the Xancudo or ESEE 3 in S35VN ON HAND and ready to ship??? Ordered my 3 weeks ago and still waiting. I'm starting to get jealous hearing about everyone else getting theirs. Hahaha
No...not off hand...we OUTSOLD our initial production run very quick and I know Rowen is making them as fast as they can...
Damn... I guess I'll have to wait. Hahaha. It's good to hear the S35VN is doing better than projected. One more question @shaneadams90... have the first 1,000 ( first production run) already been distributed and sold out?
No...they have not....we are fulfilling the first 1000 as we speak...to be very honest...we were't sure how these were gonna Go over so we made a conservative first run....and we outsold it by more than Double...getting S35vn steel has been a slow process as well.
Cool. I was interested in one until I realized the price point. I absolutely love my Zancudo folders but a lot of the allure was the fact they were so inexpensive. Zancudo for $27 is a no brainer .... all day long. Xancudo for $124 I have to really think about since there are other great options in that price point. Just my two cents.
Price point illustrates the differences in steel and USA based production...no way around the added costs for sure.
I completely understand. My point was more that the steel change made this model a totally different animal than the Zancudo & Avispa folders, almost like they aren't "related" at all. The Zancudo & Avispa are awesome quality, budget friendly models. They use budget friendly materials so they can deliver an awesome product at an awesome price. I have two Zancudos. One is a hard user and my go to in the shop/garage and around the house. The other one I bought to keep in my truck as a backup to whatever I have in my pocket. The Xancudo uses a "better" steel which puts it in a totally different category of knife. For the street price of a Xancudo I could purchase 4-5 Zancudos. Not knocking the product at all. I'm sure it is awesome. I would have just preferred a fixed blade Zancudo in the same materials with a $40 price tag. I would have bought 2 immediately.
the only way to accomplish that would be to move production over seas and I'm still not sure that is even possible at that price point.. If it has ESEE on it...it will be USA Made.
you got that right. with his divorce and gender neutral surgery bills stacking up, I might not get it back.
I can appreciate that. Just making an observation of the difference between the Zancudo and Xancudo and how they are similar but different.
It's not the Xancudo... but I saw y'all talking about how many sold, the first 1000, etc. How about the first 100? My new 3.
