Filson clothing, hats, and equipment (e.g. belts and briefcases), is an acquired taste. In my opinion it is not designed to be comfortably used right out of the box. Rather it is designed to be bombproof over a very long period of time. The break in period can be richly rewarding if you are willing to tolerate the process. Understandably many people aren't willing to tolerate it.

My oldest (and best) Filson goods are unparalleled as far as my tastes go. But I've put a lot of time into getting there. :D

As much as I'd like to admit that I don't need a folder, they come in handy. I ended up ordering this little sucker a few minutes ago.

That's a great knife! I've had the same one as a dedicated SAR/Truck knife for a few years. I had Dave (KershawGuy) swap the handle for a carbide glass-breaker before shipping it to me.

If it's not too late - you can likely contact Dave and ask if he can piece one together for you. I think it was around $40 total for the one I got. The only caveat is the 'XXXX' on the blade, since it's not a standard Kershaw configuration, so no warranty.

It can poke your leg pretty good too! I keep it in the console or in my bag now ;)

Yeah, it looks like it wouldn't feel too good. :) it's a cool addition to the knife though. If I had the extra cash I'd end up getting it. Sadly I'm a poor bastard.

I needed a better waterproof shell, and scored this one for $35:

My Hoyt Tenacity turned 19 this year, still throws a 490 grain ACC at 312fps chrono'd. I've been so happy with this bow over the years I've never seen anything new I wanted to replace it with, the Hoyt Spider came damn close. I do need to get a longbow or recurve, older I get and more animals I take the more I like going backwards in tech.

It is really nice to have both, some people say you pick up bad habits but I haven't seen it. It's fun to go backwards but with my crazy life I don't get to practice as much as I'd like. So I can grab my Mathews sighted in ready to go.

Picked up a few things from Cabellas yesterday. The G Shock was regular $130 marked down to 59.95 and I ended up paying $46, a couple of self healing targets, a new slingshot and some shot.

I gotta say I'm pretty jealous of this picture. Especially the G-Shock deal and slingshot.

Not outdoor gear, but getting ready for the new season of the Walking Dead. Picked up a 50" Samsung UHD smartie on Friday. Unreal picture quality! I used to be a Sony guy, but this is my second Samsung screen. Added bonus is the Smart View connectivity app gives you all the advanced control of the remote on your Samsung phone.

@Joelski -- I like my Samsung TV's. They've been really good electronics for me.
