Esee knives have been in my blood. I started with them as my premium knives quite sometime ago. I believe it was because Jeff was basically telling someone to go pound sand or something like that. Well a no nonsense guy like that intrigued me enough to look at his knives. I instantly liked them especially the Esee 3. Eventually I had to get one for each of my three boys and then the wife. After using it for a few years I found that I personally didn't like the black coating or the 1095 for what I needed. It's a great steel but not for saltwater and exploring the swamps. Just too much maintenance for me. I found myself looking at and getting into custom knives. I like them but none are as perfect of a design as the E3 model.

Now I'm excited that we have one coming out in my favorite steel, s35vn. I sort of remember posting in a thread about this. I do have a few knives in this and can say this stuff is tough and very stain resistant. I clean deer and squirrels, camped and food prepped with them. I even snorkeled in the Keys with an s35vn knife on my side. Cut bait such as shrimp, squid and cleaned fish. I even sliced limes for my bloody marry . The stuff held up amazingly. I'm looking forward to getting a new Esee 3 in s35vn with the contoured scales, back in my hands again.

Right there with ya on this one... ESEE was my gateway knife as well... still have a few floating around but did not care for the blade coatings and cutting performance - I'm also very excited for these new contoured S35vn knives!

I plan on getting several of them. Put one in each boat and my go bag.

Well, if you drop it, make sure you drop it on a soft pillow so it doesn't break into a thousand pieces. :)

Maybe an Esse branded pillow/sheath combo. You can steal that idea from me.
