Funny what makes the wait seem longer. I just sliced some quality Lebanon Bologna with my 4. So thin you could almost read through it. Makes me long for the 3 I ordered last week. Should be here on Monday. ESEE-3 Plain edge, uncoated, molded plastic sheath. Should be a slicing demon!
Local brick and mortar hooked me up with a military discount on this little bastard. The ergos are amazing once the lock bar is broken in.
kifaru sawtooth with liner, poles and pegs. kifaru medium box stove. exped downmat xp 9 lw. it was 2+ years ago that i switched to a hammock setup and sold my supertarp. this no snow/always raining weather made me miss how a stove minimizes wood used to keep it going.
Found a VERY lightly used pair of Rocky S2V, soft toed, Goretex and insulated boots. For almost nothing These will be a good start on my snow boots
So I bought the truck in August and then came across a deal I couldn't pass up on the trailer in September just in time for hunting season!!!
The gun / knife show was a complete bust for what I was looking for... ( Old knives time play with ) BUT i did end up finding a old school New without box Butler Creek heavy target barrel and stock set for supper cheap. There is a lot of love hate with these barrels BUT back In the day I used one and it was Awesome! A couple of hours of elbow grease/ polishing / tuning on the new combo once assembled and it should work pretty spiffy Similar to the stock photo below Not my photo.. But it should end up looking similar to this
New EDC folder in the super awesome XHP steel. Very thin grind, perhaps the best slicing folder I have had.
Just ordered an upgraded brake booster for the Landcruiser....scared the bejesus out of myself once too often with the factory unit. Spoke with a source at Toyota and their position is that "they are fine" (yes they do stop but it's like driving my 1982 60 Series !!), unofficially they know but because the demand around the Military model for an upgrade "worldwide" is low (Australians bitch loudest about it and most in Africa and The Middle East where the 70s are so popular just don't care) they are not looking at a factory upgrade. For less than a under-performing factory booster I got one of the well known aftermarket models that should give me about a 30% improvement in stopping distance.
Hmmm i never thought that i would need something like that. Make sense with all the steel ive added to mine.
Your's may well be fine mate.... the 70 series has been in constant production since 1985, when it came out it had a 1HZ diesel that was slllllooooow (but as reliable as death and taxation), they also still sported drum brakes in the back. In the years since they have upgraded many things (including the V8 turbo diesel) but I am pretty sure the brake booster is much the same as when it was introduced in 85 !!! As an example one of the cheaper upgrades is to source a brake booster from the 80/100 series trucks (like my old one !! First introduced in 1990/91) as this bolts in and is a big improvement !! It is not as "fun" of an addition as roo bars or zombie lights but probably a most practical one !
