I have a Remington Magpul 700 in 6.5, im wanting to take it out of the magpul stock and put it into a MC3 stock and switch to a exrended hinged floor plate instead of the detachable mag, what bottom metal kit should I purchase? ive seen a few different styles. here is a link to a few: http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/7782...-aluminum_black/1130-choose_magazine_box-none http://pacifictoolandgauge.com/7785...num_black/1143-choose_magazine_box-3_b_bainey
The sol from McMillan work fine. Badger ordnance is top shelf. Ptg are great to. It depends on if you want ambi release or just the drop lever.
I have a question....I certainly understand the want to move away from the Magpul stock, but why move away from box mags? It's such a convenient feature to have, even on a hunting rifle.
While hunting this year, the magazine kept being semi ejected because the mag release kept hitting my pack hip belt. So I ended up not carrying my gun loaded because of that. Had a chance at a nice buck in the timber while hiking to a glassing spot and probably would have gotten him had my gun been ready instead of the magazine in my pocket for fear of loosing it because it got ejected on my pack belt.
