I added a bit of grip and rounded the edges of the handle with a file. It feels good in the hand.

Great pics and outings mate !!! It was 43DegsC here at my place yesterday and smoke so thick you needed a Junglas to cut a path through it.....I didn't get far from the air-conditioning !!

Thanks Andy! Are the fires close to you, mate? I hope everything is OK in your area.

Thanks Bobby! If you are into hiking, we have great places to visit here and when you convert your USD to our currency you will have a lot of cash :D 1500 USD will be good for a month of hiking, staying at huts and eating there 3 times a day.

Not close as in threatening my home but there are fires to the North, West and South of Sydney, the Gospers Mtn "Mega Fire" is about 40mins to the north west of me. We have had thick smoke on and off for the past few weeks and it is generally just a bitch. There is a National Park about 8mins driving time from my house that will go up sometime this summer, there is little direct flame threat to my home (despite living on the very edge of suburbia) but if that burns embers will be a true threat. We have cleaned and have a plan as well as large bore hoses and nozzles to take care of the house. There have been over 800 homes and many lives lost here already over the last couple of months (two volunteer firefighters were killed in the early hours yesterday :( ) it is those people I feel for.

It is indeed a tragedy. I wish you all the best with the situation mate! Here wild fires are relatively rare but every couple of years floods from pouring rains do make some damage.

    Thank you, Chris!

I have travelled a bit last month - to my village house, to some huts and just hiking in the forests. The weather currently is very warm for February - around 10-12 degrees Celsius during the day, so I will enjoy it as much as I can.

I found a nice forest route at the end of the town and walk it 4-5 times a week. It is around 10 km and is perfect addition to the gym and of course preparation for the spring when I plan to go to a different hut in the mountain each week and do a lot of mountain biking :)

As always great pics mate !!! Your country does have me intrigued now !!!! Some of the landscape is not at all what I would have expected to see !!!

I had a short weekend away a couple of weeks ago and managed to get some dirt on my Landcruiser but it rained almost every day I was away (I'm not complaining as we need the rain so badly)...!!

Which pictures are the non-expected, mate?
The snowy ones or the first three ones :)

I am very glad that you have rain, much needed indeed.

I just assembled a gunshot / blood loss FAK, hope never to use it, but it is essential when carrying a gun.

It has a small israeli bandage, CAT tourniquet, elastic bandage, Combat Gauze and medical shears. The FAK pouch had an elastic organizer for fast access in it, but I removed it as it was quite bulky and without it I was able to organize the FAK better.

After a bit of thinking I was able to squeeze everything into the organizer - now it is suitable for belt carry with very fast access - you just pull the red strip and the organizer comes out. It also has a brown strip, if you want to be extra stealthy :D

I don't know why my phone keeps rotating the pictures

The first one is from the fortress in Belogradchik - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belogradchik_Fortress and the next two ones are from an area around an ancient Thracian sanctuary called Borov Kamak - Pine Stone, near the village of Borovitsa. It is one of my favourite places. It is full of charred standing trees - hit by a lightning. I think that this is due to the lots of iron in the ground, as the rocks are kind of red. Amazing place and full of wild boars.

..... if you really want to see Wild Hog figure yourself out a way to watch a movie call "Boar" Directed by Chris Sun. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4158594/

It's basically the film adaptation of one of my weekends away....including the Busse knife in a hog hide inlayed sheath (from a hog I knew intimately :D ;) ).

Today was an awesome day! We had a 26 km hike to a great waterfall and back.

There was lots of snow on some parts of the track, for around 6-7 km it was knee high and walking on it was difficult without snowshoes.

I am very glad that my training routine proved to have great effect for mountain hiking, as my legs had almost no fatigue. More stamina = more adventures!
