decided to take advantage of the nice weather yesterday and convert some firewood into something vaguely useful -- no power tools involved other than the chainsaw that harvested the wood last year.
Nice, the little peanut want to go yarn shopping after the holidays, she is finishing up a scarf for the misses right now.
Started working on a set of cornhole boards. First time doing any wood work like this. I’ve learned a lot so far. Just taking it slow. Still have some work to do. This is only the first one, wanted to get it all done other than finish before I start the other one.
finished up the shallow bowl adze I hammered out 2 weeks ago. started life as a 12 or 14 oz claw hammer.
No pictures yet. BUT I have started another stocking cap. I Found a whole bunch of 100 % Peruvian alpaca wool bundles. I’m excited for this one
The Hat I’ve been Knitting the past few days I almost have it shrunk to size but it needs to dry over night to make sure . I noticed the colors mad it hard to photograph but it looks a lot cleaner in person. Picture 1: Blocked on a cooking pot. Picture 2: Family member wearing to avoid shrinkage Picture 3: Doubling the hat over to allow the correct snugness when finished.
less than an hour - I cheated and did it all on the belt sander. did the heavy hogging with a fresh 36 grit, then came back with a 60 grit to convex and clean up. gotta love ceramic grits for durability!
