In case anyone is interested...I just spent 5 days at Disney World. The first day I only brought the bladeless Gerber Dime Travel. I felt uncomfortable not having a knife on me since I usually carry one 24/7 (except while showering...but if I pick up a Spydie Salt I'll shower with one too). I asked the Police officer running the metal detector about their knife policy. He confirmed blades under 3" are ok. I carried my SAK Huntsman the next 4 days. I only went through the metal detector 2 of those 4 remaining days and the only thing any of the officers said to me about the knife was "What's your most used tool on your SAK?" (To which my reply was the scissors and tweezers)

If you have the time in Orlando, Randall has a little museum by their shop.

I'm headed there in November. So glad I can take a knife with me. Looks like the Dragonfly II will be perfect size

Hate to bring this back from the dead but me and my misses to be are going late October. Any changes? The website says no knives of any kind now.

I have gotten in with a SAK cadet but also last time i was there (Sea World) I had to trash one, i wouldn't carry anything you were not willing to get rid of if you plan to carry. Disney springs is a different story, its a massive outdoor mall so no security checks or bag checks

I went again in December of 2018 and it was the same. Just carry something you dont mind giving up....give it to the security officer if you cant take it in...Half the time I didnt even go through the detectors...its random. They have ex-CIA,FBI and military in plain clothes all over the place screening for threats. You probably only see 1/4 of their security force. They arent worried about little pocket knives. The security may seem lax but it isnt...You just dont realize it's there lol...all part of the "Disney Magic"

You might be giving them a little too much credit.

I’m gonna leave this right here:

That's California...Its a whole different story there. Disney Land is 0.25 square miles....Disney World is 43 square miles. Its nearly the size of San Francisco. They are obviously going to have a lot more complex security at the latter.
I've spoken to some people who work there in security and they've told me that they have plain clothes profilers that are retired govt agency officials that walk around checking people out.

Just bring a disposable knife like a kershaw, spyderco persistence or a SAK Tinker...They allow knives because they follow Florida state laws...If that policy has changed and you happen to get randomly selected for the metal detectors, present it with your keys. If they wont allow the knife then give it to the security officer. That will make his day. If you dont want to lose a knife then dont bring one at all, but I hate that feeling so I would rather take the chance of losing a cheap knife. Im actually heading to Cedar Point today for the next two days and they have really strict security policies...Everyone has to go through their metal detectors and they are supposedly really ridiculous about stuff. I called their security and asked if I could bring my TSA approved Gerber Dime Travel mini multitool a.d they said no because it's made of metal...lol
