@KnOeFz, nice knife and beer! I’ve got the same glass courtesy of a pub in New Zealand.

Tried to capture the difference in patina on a Mantra that's a few years old and a Mantra2 that's only a few weeks old:

Just ordered two new spydercos, the new endura 4 ffg warncliffe and a matriarch 2, love the endura handle so I'm excited about both. Then I see they now have a FRN police for just a little more then an endura and with the ffg... might be another spyderco on the way lol...

Anybody have one of the chinook 4s? I'm back on a spyderco kick and been looking at their big folders. I had a manix 2 xl and sold it, not the biggest fan of the ball bearing lock.

Replaced the stupid signet ring with a micarta backspacer. The lock is snappy and firm again.

That fire scares me... Wasn't it time to get away from there?

From the picture that looks like a ground level fire burning in the grass, most wildland crews will be digging line right along that, if it gets out of hand you step through it into the "black". Then just hang out in the already burned area until the wind shifts and you can get back to work. Hope the fire didn't damage anything valuable, as long as it stayed a nice low intensity fire like the picture you should have some nice grazing areas there next year! Now for a "LETS GET OUT OF HERE NOW FIRE".... 20170830_105548.jpg This was a desert fire in Nevada, snapped this picture right before the wind shifted and drove that wall of fire right at us, overtired and too focused on some spot fires on the opposite side of the road and I came around the side of the truck to seeing what had been 10 foot flames burning in sage brush turn into 50 foot flames and the junipers completely exploding and burning in a matter of seconds. Threw our crap on the truck and got out of there, nothing the 5 engines parked there could do to stop it. They caught it with dozers and DC10s/C130s doing retardant drops a few days later. Luckily that was a very sparsely populated area and the structure protection division did an awesome job protecting the small town nearby, if I remember correctly they only lost a shed and minor damage to a few homes. Since this is the spyderco thread and I went on a tangent, back to spyderco, probably had my trusty waved Endura in my pocket on that fire, love the Endura line. I carry this one and a warncliff ffg nearly daily. My girlfriend carrys a matriarch 2 I got her, she really likes it for both the SD purposes but also it is surprisingly good at most edc tasks. 15671795410174645365783768058555.jpg
