These are two of my three longest owned bladed tools. A Victorinox Tinker that I've had for at least twenty-two years and an Old Hickory butcher that I've had for a decade longer than that. It or one like it was was my first heavily used woods knife. They were used and discarded by a local summer camp where I spent a lot of time year round (not as a camper). The handles were painted to correspond with the unit of campers that used them. I have another, slightly larger Old Hickory butcher knife somewhere that I've had just as long. At least I think I still have it.
"Somewhere" I have a cheap folding knife I got as a kid in the 70s. I could not lay hands on it if pressed though. I am STILL using a couple of G96 fixed blades that I bought new @1987. I have a pic of one I will dig out and post.
Dad bought me this knife before my first haircut. In a small rural town, we had a hardware store with a knife selection that could have been a stand alone store.
Again, I bought this knife brand new, in 1977 I think? Bought it at a friends store that was named Cravens Gun Haven, in Las Vegas, NV. It's a SCHRADE LB7 Bear Paw. Serial number 7100.
I have a folder I got in the early 90’s a Coast cutlery lock-back with rubberized handles buried deep in a safe. Hard to find a photo online and I sure as heck don’t dig certain sentimental items out. I also have a pre 2000’s Gerber multi tool I still carry around occasionally. Like the one below. So a few I have owned over 20 years. If we are talking old knives just for fun I have a fixed blade that a family friend picked up in Germany before he came home from “The War”
One of the two G96s I menioned above... .....this one has dressed more deer than I could ever recount. It was my constant hunting companion from 1987 till 2013 +/-.
The Nuns in my Primary School use to play us AC/DC in class as soothing tunes.....we also had beer at recess....and I rode a kangaroo to school as well
Ive got an old timer my grandpa gave to me when i was too young and stupid. Cut myself a lot with it but learned a lot.
