Ordered a set for my daughters birthday. This opens up a whole new level of possibilities.

This is what a beautiful SS Izula with the AMAZING Extended scales looks like :)
Nice comparison shot of a Standard Izula 2, Izula 2 with ESEE 6&3 Thicker scales, SS Izula with TKC Extended Scales And the CR 2..5

I just put a set on a stainless Izula and they fit perfect. They look and feel great, just need to use them a bit now to see if I like the extra length.

I like how they are thinking. I just want the same length added to the Izula 2 scales for an extra long handle.

I’ll say this about the new scales! IMO the CR2.5 is probbably the most capable for very fine tasks currently in the ESEE line. That said the Izula with the TKC extended scales for me is #2 most capable for fine tasks.
My point being is that if you cannot or do not love the CR2.5 then I would give serious consideration to giving these scales a try.
I personally use my middle and pointer finger + thumb to finely manipulate the blade while firmly grasping the handle with my pinky and ring finger and palm of my hand. This technique can only be done with a longer handle. The new scales enable me to use this technique again
So why these vs the Izula 2? The difference between the Izula 2 and the Izula + TKC extended scales is with the taper at the front of the scales. It allows me to more easily grasp closer to the middle of the knife will still allowing my front 3 fingers to finely manipulate the blade.
So in other words I’m LOviNG these scales :)

I hope that all makes sense as to what I’m saying :)

I picked up on of the prototype sets and could not be happier. Really adds to the functionality.

Anyone have anymore comparison pics between the extended scales and regular tkc scales? Also maybe comparison pics between stock (or bk14) scales and tkc scales? Im looking at grabbing a set of tkc for the stainless izula when i get it but its primarily going to be neck carried so I wanna figure out how much longer and thicker the scales will be compared to the orange zytel bk14 scales I currently have on my izzy

I recently picked up a BK24 with TKC Izula scales - they have good taper at the front for pinch grip, stop short of the end of the ring, and feel better than the stock BK14 scales.
trying to decide if I like them better than my LMF Joe izula scales.
REALLY interested in a set of the extended izula scales.

How much thicker are the tkc than stock bk14 scales?

the TKC is slightly thinner than kabar at the front and .75" at the thickest.
The kabar scales are .6 at the thickest - slight taper fore and aft
LMF Joe scales are pretty uniformly .65"
stock Izula 2 scales are .7"

@OutdoorsFamilyMan sorry for the poor quality. I've got them both out if you want a couple more angles.

Thats perfect thanks. There doesn't seem to be that much of a size difference in length or thickness that will make that much of a difference with neck carry
