Hey guys, so i havent been active here in while due to my ankle injury. Long story short, its a super bummer.

But i DID just get an Izula from DLT in black oxide for only $46 shipped!? Wut!?
I actually wasnt planning on getting it, and i got a bk14 a bit ago because it was a lot cheaper, then i got my wife a knife and had to spend a bit more for free shipping, and saw the izula for $46. I couldnt believe it!

So... i got it. What better way to earn free shipping!

I really, really like it. It will certainly be in my edc rotation, and will likely end up very customized.

In other news, i found another retailer who sells special blade orange izula and izula 2s... they are beautiful! I wish those were a standard option! Ill look them up if anyone wants.

Anyways, here is some b.o. pron. I hope you enjoy! Ill upload more to this thread as my time with the izzy goes on.

Gnarly leg dude, I sympathize. I had my left foot carved up pretty good back in May and I'm scheduled for a total right knee replacement next month. Told my pup that 2018 was the year of 'not walking'.

Liking that black oxide Izula of yours.

If you're talking about Knifeworks, they are well known to most who have been around ESEE forums for a while. They offer a lot of exclusives in orange. They are also really nice folks and great to deal with.

I have an Izula 2 in orange that I use a lot and just recently bought a couple more as gifts.

So, i really wanted an Izzy, but at the time it was looking like the bk14 was about $20 cheaper, and i havent gotten a Becker in about... half a decade. I like the bk14 a lot!

Then on dlt i found, as i already mentioned, this b.o. ozzy for $46, only $6 more than the bk14...

I have to say, although i love and will use both blades, if i had found this izzy at this price i wouldnt have gotten the 14.

But i am glad i did, they are similar, but different enough to justify having both.

Next i just need that orange Izzy 2 from knife works!

Very Nice. Excuse my ignorance but does the black oxide coating inhibit fire striking like the regular ESEE powder coating does, or is the black oxide act more like a untreated blade??

Get well, that hoof looks painful.

That ankle looks painful. Without reading the thread first I just scrolled through the pics and I gotta say that seeing the ankle all cut up and then seeing a pic right below it of a piece of meat that looks very similar was kind of disturbing lol

The new coating does not inhibit anything like the powder coating, its really just a finish directly on bare metal, more like bluing.

    Thanks!
