    Thanks Bushie. It's a # 2. A 6 qt, and there were no leftovers, not a bite. ;)

Yeah...My skinny lil Beloved, 3 bowls, I had 2, my sous chef just kept shoveling, and half a loaf of crusty sourdough too. I poured the last of it in his bowl. Nothing but a thing. Already got a #3-8qt sitting in the cart for next payday. ;)

Appreciate the kind words myfriend. I went and looked at a commercial tripod, it was really thin wall pipe. Not even at sturdy as common water pipe. Then I started looking at good stuff by blacksmiths but I don't have the 5 bills they wanted. Had some leftover T-post and some trace chain...."run whatcha brung" right? ;)

This is "supposed" to be an adventure thread. I was going to go fishing on Wednesday. Nope, spent that hauling truckloads of stuff for a local charity distribution. Ok I'll go Thursday. Umm nope, 2 separate projects keep me tied up all day. Friday? No. Lets go halfway across Texas to try and salvage what some dim bulb has already fricked up.
Well then, What shall we do today?........;)

    image.jpeg
Let's see. What can I do with these?

    image.jpeg
Oh my. There's all this marinated chicken...

    image.jpeg
This requires cast iron. And the knotty edge defying limbs of the oak, perhaps a donation from the stately hickory as well.

A shot or two of garlic infused evoo, wait for to go shiny and in goes 2 huge chicken breast ( big chunks) as well as the now deboned half bird seen earlier. Hint: those bones got chopped up and are off camera in another pot being boiled for stock to add back in later. ;) )

    image.jpeg
What else is hanging around that I can use? Couple of carrots, stick of celery, some fresh green beans fro ma n pa, handful of frozen corn. Yep hack chop and in the pot it goes!

    image.jpeg
If we're going to be all creative like, based on what I learned from my earlier homemade crusty bread, I says dumplings!
But I don't do dull anything. Let's throw a bunch of spice on top then ball em up!

Ok, I'm not gonna lie, this is just fun! I like making my own recipes, getting my pots all black over a fire. :D

    image.jpeg
And put that bone stock back in....

    image.jpeg
Add some water, coarse salt, more of those aromatic herbs and spices, build up the fire a bit, need a good rolling boil.
Then start feeding in the dumplings but keep that boil going. ( These were kept in the freezer until now, keeps the dough firm. Gives you a slightly dense chewy dumpling.)

This time there will be enough dang it! A #2 potjie/full 6 quarts worth.

    image.jpeg
Sure as heck not a bad way to spend a Saturday. Get to be outside, play with fire and cast iron. No complaints. :)

    image.jpeg
I cook it up, I serve it up...

    image.jpeg
That's what I did today. If you're in my neighborhood give a yell. I'll sure as heck put something good in your gullet if I can. ;)
