AR Uppers, BCG, Gas Block

Got all this in a trade, I have no idea why it's painted gray. Other than handling marks, the uppers are clean and seem to be in overall good condition. Maybe they were for builds that never happened? The BCG is complete and the gas key is staked, but the small parts all have been used and I don't know who made it. The gas block may have been a take off part.

100% certain that DPMS is a 5.56? Proportions in the picture make me think it's a 308 receiver?

 

I was kinda wondering about that too. Maybe it's the angle?

 

I am pretty sure that that DPMS upper is 556
