I haven’t looked up the specs, but imagine this is heavy and not suitable for hiking/backpacking, but for worksites or car camping it seems cool. Does anyone have any experience with this? https://www.cauldryn.com/products/fyre-mobile-v2-0
Neat idea, but I go thru a cup(s) of coffee too quick to justify spending (almost $200+ CAD) for a heated mug.
Had a cup similar to that once that plugged into the cigarette lighter in my truck. Worked great on the road. Was a freebie from some company.
My gut reaction is to say bad things about this and maybe make sarcastic comments about anyone that would buy one, but if you ignore the price point it's pretty neat if it works like advertised. "Ideal Uses: Keep coffee hot, brew coffee & tea, cook freeze-dried food, sterilize water, charge devices, heat soup, boil water" If Yeti made it people would pay twice the asking price for it. Regardless, it's heavy and only holds 16 oz of coffee. And it's expensive for only 20 hrs of max use. I'm sure if you charge your phone with it that drops substantially.
I just use a Thermos mug, preheated with boiling water. Coffee stays hot for hours. Preheating is the key.
Apparently the company is/will be offering add ons like a blender, coffee grinder, Bluetooth speaker and lantern with bug zapper. So it'll help you make coffee, keep your coffee warm, make you a mixed drink and provide entertainment after you've had too many mixed drinks. While charging your phone and making dinner. https://gearjunkie.com/cauldryn-fyre-v2-smart-travel-mug Victorinox, you're slacking.
^ yea but who in the heck is going to carry all that crap while hiking......? maybe vehicle camping or used in an office....... but seriously - who keeps their coffee for 20 hours? Are people taking a tiny sip every 2 hours? LOL dunno. its neat i guess. But if i want hot coffee I buy another one or pour one out from my thermos. (that cost me $35..... 15 years ago)
