Very nice. My fiance wants us to get goats. I'm only willing if it's for meat. I'm not too keen on raising animals that we don't have a practical use for. She, on the other hand, isn't fond of the idea. Really just wants them as pets. I've tried to explain that goat meat is fantastic. I'm not sure if it's how cute she thinks they are, or that they're not really a common food source, but I don't think we'll come to an agreement on this one lol.

That's awesome! I've wanted to raise goats, but we don't have the space. And I'm having trouble convincing the wife that raising and eating rabbits is a good thing. I think she's hung up on the idea because she had a couple pet rabbits as a kid.

So in the meantime, I'm working a small-ish backyard garden: a couple herbs, kale, cayenne, peas, and tomatoes. I'll try to remember to post pics one of these days.

I wont lie. Its not an easy thing to do. Gardening is easier on the mind for sure.

We need to grow some herbs. One of the things we have never had luck with. Basil and dill grow but i cant get anything else to do much.

Started planting a kitchen garden a month or so back (an majorly composting way before that) So far I have a few varieties of beans, corn, zucchini, gourds, amaranth, tomatillos, chard, some different lettuces, and different herbs planted and growing. So far so good! IMG_6953.JPG IMG_6952.JPG IMG_6954.JPG IMG_6955.JPG IMG_6956.JPG

I’m curious do you use the amaranth as a green, for the grain or both? It grows wild here in our wetlands and I’ve been really interested in trying it, but I’m unsure what to do with it. With my job I have access to it throughout it’s growing season.
