I’m pretty happy with the results.

Here's another knife that's definitely not mine, but I just had to share with you guys. It was made by John Gulso (Fimbulvetr Knifeworks)

"This knife is the culmination of an idea I had for a process that would allow high definition imagery in a pattern welded blade, I’ve been calling it picturesque damascus. To my knowledge, this is a novel process and it’s not been done before (please let me know if you have an example contrary).
    -
-The silver parts of flag is made of a nickel steel and 1075, and is san mai over a 1095 core. While the blade is etched to show the contrast, the flag is not the result of a carefully masked etch. The blade is 8” long, with distal taper and a false edge. The guard is forged to shape from some A203E and 1075 damascus, and the handle stabilized black walnut. -
    -
The beautiful sheath is brown leather and shark skin, fully lined, by Paul Long."

    Thanks,
They seem to like A2, I have a couple LT Wrights in A2. One thing I wish they would do, is stamp the steel type into the blades for memory sake when you can n longer find the boxes. When you get older, you'll know why I said that.

This one has an A stamped on the opposite side, I’m guessing for A2. Maybe that has recently changed.

Cold Steel Smatchet, polypropylene handle. Slightly thinner than the Junglas, but what a beast. Came screaming sharp, both swedge and blade. Not bad for $40 after taxes.
